Smartphones are huge right now, but the days of small phones are not far behind. Samsung’s Galaxy S10 series has been announced with a display that measures 5.8 inches across the diagonal, which is just slightly smaller than the screen on the iPhone XS Max.

When the profit machine for big, high-end smartphones slowed down in recent years, small companies like Apple and Samsung began to experiment with more affordable devices with features not typically found in their larger models. This includes smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi, OPPO, Sony, and LG. Although it is difficult to predict what will happen in the future, increased competition among smartphones may lead to better deals for consumers that are currently paying too much for high-end models.

In 2007, a study was done on whether or not all smartphones had to be large and bulky. The study concluded that if phones were between 5 to 6 inches diagonally, sales increased by 50% over the previous year. This is a very important statistic because 95% of smartphone users access their devices through a hand held device. One of the largest companies doing well with this strategy is Apple.

Many people are wondering if it’s worth getting a small smartphone just because of the larger screen sizes of the newer devices. Many people are saying that the “small” size of these older models is more convenient, though some say that they are still pretty big for their needs.

It seems that the smaller smartphones are back in style. While larger smartphones are being introduced these days, it’s not hard to imagine a time when they will be history. Smaller screens require less power, which means you won’t have to worry about your battery running out during use or standing in line for hours waiting to charge your phone.

The smartphone market is getting saturated with too many brands and models that the average consumer has a hard time deciding which device to choose. Smartphone manufacturers are attempting to remedy this problem by introducing smaller, more portable devices. To be successful, these new devices need to address all of the consumers’ needs in a customizable way.
